PTE Core is the version accepted for Canadian immigration. It depends on your goal. The student visa (Subclass 500) minimum is 47 overall, but most good universities want 58 to 65, and healthcare courses often need 65 in each section. For PR, 50 overall is the eligibility floor, with higher scores earning migration points. PTE Academic is scored from 10 to 90, and it is marked entirely by AI, not human examiners. Some tasks are integrated, meaning one task can score more than one skill at once, which is unique to PTE.
